Nice detective work!

Worthless without photos

Encore Flight school :(:(... 10 bucks says it had no gas or missed a few appointments with the mechanic

Wow. The interviewer is creepy as hell. I am sure he is in some registry somewhere. Yikes

"Thank God all the cars stopped except for one guy. He went right underneath us and we landed and I was very shaken," Lagree said. "I took a few deep breaths and I'll still go fly tomorrow."

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

MOORPARK, Calif. -- A student pilot safely landed a small plane on a thoroughfare in Ventura County after its engine began to fail mid-air, CBS Los Angeles reports.
Danielle Lagree, 27, and her flight instructor were forced to make the emergency landing between vehicles along the southbound lanes of Highway 23 after the engine on their small plane began to give out.
"We were coming down and so we either were going to go on a dirt patch or we found the highway," said Lagree, a student pilot.
Lagree said she and her flight instructor realized they couldn't get high enough over the mountains to make it to Camarillo in the small plane while recounting the scary moments.
The pair had left Van Nuys Airport and Lagree was practicing maneuvers when she heard the engine sputter.
"So then I asked my instructor what's wrong and he was like, 'Did you touch the throttle?' and I said, 'No.' And then he realized that we were having engine failure," she said.
"We saw the cable lines and we thought we were going to hit them, but we went right over them," she said.

Then, the two had to decide where to land to avoid injury. They chose the southbound lanes of the highway at the Tierra Rejada exit in Moorpark.
"You guys, I'm freaking out. A plane just landed on the freeway," said a woman, who posted a clip of the landing on Twitter.
"Thank God all the cars stopped except for one guy. He went right underneath us and we landed and I was very shaken," Lagree said. "I took a few deep breaths and I'll still go fly tomorrow."
The mechanics for Encore Flight School were dismantling the wings as of Monday night so the plane could be placed onto a tow truck and transported back to Van Nuys Airport.
They say the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to arrive Tuesday to determine what went wrong.
There were no reports of injuries.

LOL!!

All I can say is: Damn! Sometimes it DOES pay off to be a CFI!

I'm sure her CFI was distracted. I can understand that. ;)

I'll just leave this right here...

On second thought I better not (link to Miss Ford's website).

At least she was airbag equipped in case it rolled over on its back.

The instant I saw that guy, I thought "man, he hates women". Now that I know her profession, I guess that probably comes with the territory.

I wonder if it was staged. I can imagine in the porn business paying off the CFI wouldn't be out of the question, and a nice paycheck could easily cover the 709 ride hassles. All speculation, of course.

What? Encore Flight Acadamy in Van Nuysl!? Holy cow! I am not surprised at all to find them in the news. :hairraise:

I rented almost exactly a year ago from them. Their aircraft were, even for a rental outfit, only in a marginal technical condition, had multiple squawks and looked only good on their website. Quite a few of them were never available and always 'booked', even though they just sat on the ramp.
Unreliable, poor organization as well. By far the worst customer experience I had with any company in the aviation industry.

Run away from them as fast as you can!

There's a private dirt runway about 200 yards from the freeway where they landed. Very usable.

Yep. That was my landing spot during my PPL check ride engine out procedures. He was seeing if I would spot it or land on the freeway.

No "fluffer" available.

Trying to avoid making landing strip jokes is hard in this thread...

I'm hanging it up before I get myself in trouble.

It is bare and kind of blends into the surrounding area, hard to spot unless you are on top of it.

I have a feeling she is going to regret this publicity.

Judging from the quick google I just did, there's a lot she might regret in later life. This will probably be pretty far down the list.

Not so sure. She seems to enjoy the interview(s).

Getting all the attention and fame for being the hero who 'rescued' all souls on board, even though she is 'just' a student pilot probably feels pretty good.

Quite a few people will see her as the tough, super talented future pilot: If she can pull off something like this as a student pilot - just imagine what she can do once she is done with her training!!!

Also, when you Google for her, almost the entire first page of search results is now about the emergency landing and not her other 'talents'.
Actually, it appears as whether this incident came in extremely handy for a publicity seeker like her...

The article I read stated the CFI landed the plane.
My favorite part of this whole things (besides everyone being safe) is finding out she is starting a dispensary called Boobs and Bud.

Where it is stated "Ms. Lagree, a former Penthouse pet".
I absolutely agree, a pet for sure.
WOOF!
*shudder* That thing is just ... um ... nasty. (to stay PG13)

This story has been all over the media, interesting angles from all over. In the end, it will give us (pilots) a black eye anyway. Because ... you know ... airplanes are dangerous and they threaten innocent drivers on public roads.

Think of it this way - Flying a small airplane is so safe that even a centerfold can land one in an emergency!
