Touchdown! Greaser!
Somethings wrong here. The Cessna had an active Data Block being tracked already when he first called the HHR Tower. He wasn’t just a guy squawking 1200 and calling the Tower for landing instructions. He had some previous contact with ATC and was assigned a discrete code. Somebody had given him a code and started the Track. Then the Approach Controller says “440 roger, nobody tagged you up so you should be alright.” Don’t know what was going through the controllers head when he said that but he may be having some explaining to do. Somethings fishy here.
