I was lucky to buy the piece of property I have. I have a corner already staked out to put an airplane factory. Lot is 165x1275'. Have a long driveway and the entrance is right in the middle of the 65', east side I have utilities buried to my house. West side is pretty useless. Driveway entrance is on the high side and slopes probably 5 feet the first 25'. Plan is to cut into the hill and take advantage of some of the geothermal while also keeping the roof height lower. Run utilities underground from my house, under the driveway to the "shop". Ive got the space to go up to 2500sqft if I wanted. I've got too many grandiose ideas. It took me about a microsecond to think "I hope you put a screen over the drain so that you don't drop any small parts down there!"
Congrats on the shop with the detached house! Since the market and interest rates will likely keep me stuck with my current house for life, I guess I'll always have the "shoulda coulda woulda" feeling about one house we looked at that had a huge shop - I'd guess 40x60 - with compressed air, power, etc on hoses/cords from the ceiling all over the place. Oh, and the house was pretty nice too.![]()
