Spend $10-20 Right Now?

I got a slice for $2.50 here in SF tonight.

That's right, you're here! Weren't you going to let me know how it was going? Were you downtown at the Powell Cable Car Turnaround at Blondie's or something? Or in North Beach? Where did you get a slice for $2.50?

Wow, you have cheap gas.

Yeah, we do. Helps that the only refinery is fed well by a large supply from surrounding states that costs serious $ to ship to the coasts, and that our fuel taxes are a lot lower than more densely populated areas where those with green aspirations manipulate the tax structure to try to get people to drive less.

AvGas is hovering just above $5/gal.

The downside is that we shortsightedly didn't fund bridge work properly and most of our bridges are falling apart so they've started adding "Bridge Fee" to vehicle registration and licensing. I expect that number will climb for a whole but at least it's a direct earmark and not disappearing into the General Fund like many fuel taxes seem to eventually.

This is a bit of market research. What would you spend $10-20 on right now. Let's say a service. Something that you have been putting off? Something that you want fixed? Product? What product (that actually costs about that much, don't say a J-3 for $20) would you buy?

What would you easily spend a few bucks on at this very moment?

Clamps. You can't have too many clamps for woodworking

In theory there are children with pilot certs. Student pilot is a cert but if you want to get technical, PPL at 17 is under 18 which is accepted as a legal "adult" age. Really though, $20? Go to a bad part of any city, they'll do stuff for a cheeseburger (dollar menu!).

Well, at 17 you can go see movies with all sorts of language and fun activities

Sorry, I think the wx has been pretty crappy in the evenings anyway. It was pouring last night.

I got the slice of pizza in the Outer Richmond on Geary, no place special.

Frankie, johnny, and louigi's. Last time I was in the bay area, there were four places. I loved their garlic and mushroom pizza. Apparently though, no one else did!
I guess the place is sorta famous. From home I can walk to the one in Mountain View. Unbelievably good pizza and other stuff.

Funny we went on a night flight (I wasn't the pilot). But you are right, by 10pm down South, ceilings around 5,000 so I don't know if Petaluma was even VFR.
