With all the negativity floating around, sometimes something happens that make you smile.
I was getting on an interstate from a two lane feeder exit. Next to me at a stoplight was a generic SUV. I noticed it had steel wheels, in spite of being pretty new and clean. I guessed it was an unmarked cop car. Decided this was not the time to contest who gets to the single lane merge first. Let him go ahead and he was going about 80 on 95 (which in FL is a pretty normal speed). Forgot about him and tooling along in the middle lane still at 80 along with everyone else, a green Barracuda goes by me at a real high rate of speed on the right. About 5 cars in front of me, he decides to cut across all three lanes and fit into a very narrow space between a semi and (wait for it) a nondescript SUV with steel wheels. Cop lights him up like it's Christmas as does the other SUV behind him that's also an unmarked cop. Have to admit it made me smile as the Cuda was definitely driving dangerously (even for FL)
Key takeaways
- My unmarked car spidey sense still works
- Sometimes there is justice

driving north RT95 (iirc) out of Melbourne FL in slow-ish moving traffic... suddenly a car zooms up in the breakdown lane and up ahead a pickup moves into the breakdown. mr idiot zoom zoom driver swerves, across all three lanes once, twice, three times, and ends up in the median strip. Fortunately no one hurt, but mr idiot zoom zoom's car has taken damage.

FAFO.

too bad, so sad.

Welcome to Florida where posted speed limits are a suggestion.

My father had a gorgeous 1967 'cuda convertible-yellow with a white interior. He loved that car. So did I, and I was looking forward to eventually inheriting it. Just after a top rebuild it was stolen and found north of home on an Indian reservation at the bottom of a cliff.

One of the few times I saw my father cry.

I eventually bought the family's 1960 Rambler station wagon for $10.
Dolled it up with a purple dome light, curtains, and a mattress. Its nickname--"The Midnight Rambler."

OKAY!!! This topic REALLY hits home. Suzi and I were driving home in our Z06 Corvette. We were in Utah and all of a sudden this Mustang comes along side and REVS his engine. I didn't take the bait and just continued as he ZOOMED away. Then, about 3 miles down the road, we came across this!!! HA! HA! HA!
