Perhaps this is one of the reasons Tyson and Hilton have been so quiet of late. They have the teams at their respective skunk works enhancing FF and WX to take advantage of this.

The imagine can go wild on how this could be utilized to benefit us airmen.

I have a widget on my phone that tracks Apples progress towards having widgets.

On the latest "MacBreak Weekly" they discuss how major the iOS8 upgrade is, which is why there have been, and may continue to be, teething problems with both the upgrade itself and with compatibility issues as apps get sorted out.

Also, that while at this point in the cycle something like 70% of iOS users had upgraded to iOS7, the adoption rate to iOS8 is still in the 40's, with lots of people choosing to wait a while while things get sorted.

Myself included.

Last week, everyone said that adoption had slowed to a crawl because of bad news about 8.0.1, but I heard a different theory today: There are too many devices without the ~5GB of free space necessary to do the over-the-air download, owned by people who don't know that you don't need as much space if you connect it to your computer and let iTunes download and install the update. (My mother-in-law included - She just asked me about that the other day.)

With that in mind, I find it an odd decision that when moving from 16/32/64 GB as the storage options for the older iPhones, they went to 16/64/128 rather than 32/64/128. 16GB just ain't much. I bet my MIL goes for the 128 next time... She's constantly running out of room from taking too many pictures and videos and never syncing to the computer.

So something that Android has had for many years already is big news for Apple? :)

I'm still ****ed that my Retina Mini is now mostly useless after 8.0.2 and there is not a damn thing I can do about it except leave it on the desk as a paper weight. A tablet w/o reliable WiFi = junk.

Might be time to visit the Genius Bar. I have had 8.0.2 on my AT&T Retina Mini 128gb since it was published and it WiFi's very well.

What are you talking about? I haven't heard about that problem at all. Might want to take it to the store...

Or, of course, if you really are going to leave it on the desk as a paperweight, send it to me. I'll trade you an actual paperweight for it. ;)

Lots of people have reported wifi and cell connection problems after the update if you search around. My connection rate at home is running <20% now, with frequent reboots and network resets. *When* it connects, the speed is usually ~10 mbps or less, while my Android phone on the same network will be ~120 mbps. At some point in the not-too-distant future after connecting, it will just drop out and web pages won't load. And there is no way to roll it back to the last update!!!

iOS 8 is Apple's take on Microsoft's lets release buggy software and figure it out down the road. I thought this was the reason why I bought Apple stuff. :mad2:

I updated my iphone 5 a couple of days ago. I can barely tell any difference.
