SOLO!!!

Nice. Apopka is a tough airport for learning IMO. Odd ground level changes near the threshold and every time I flew in there the wind got squirrely right there on short final.

Yep, especially rwy 33. The runway has a slope at that end, plus it's on a berm that's ~10 high at the end, probably ~5' near the hangars. The buildings near the south end channel the crosswind, and the berm causes it to swirl upward and do bizarre things.

Fortunately, I had light and favorable winds and was able to use 15 instead. I can land on 33, but for my first solo I was glad to be landing on 15.
 
Way to go! The first one is always the hardest and most exhilarating!!!
