So sadly out Archer was one of the planes in the collapsed Crider Hangar. We seem to have gotten locky and it didn't suffer a ton of damage and may be repairable.

Which brings me to my question. The local sheetmetal shop came recommended by the insurance adjuster, but I haven't found too much about them online.

Does anyone have any info on Mountain Airframe? Their website seems firmly rooted in the early 2000s, but if they do good work I don't care.

Similarly does anyone have a review of Mena Aircraft Engines?

I don't have nothing current but heard good things about Mountain Airframe and would probably check with him to see if he will handle your engine as well or coordinate it with another shop for you. Good luck.

The Mooney had a Mena engine when we bought it at ~1200 TSMOH. That engine went to 2250 and ran like a beast right up until it didn’t. No complaints. For what it’s worth.

Thanks. That is good news. I just wanted a sanity check on the shops down there.

Condolences. Cool Rhönsegler.

Del lehmann at Mountain is the best. You are lucky your insurance recommended him, but I suppose they have a vested interest in keeping your plane airworthy too.

Well it does help that they are at the same airport ;-)

They'll be busy, I think the adjuster said 11 planes were in that hangar IIRC. Including a King Air and a Citation.

My experience is that this is a feature, not a bug. The flashier the website, the less I trust the work (or, at least, that it will be done at a reasonable price). Some of the best people I've dealt with in aviation have had websites that look like something from geocities.

I fully agree. I just wanted to get some feedback.

As a side note this is a great local spot for music, but their website is deliberately funky ;-) https://www.thecrystalcornerbar.com/
