Small plane crashes into Florida home leaving 1 dead, 2 injured

best to not do engine out practice in a SeeBee. That old B9F Franklin may not like it.

This one had a 0-540 conversion.

No fire, I wonder what the gas situation was? We need to stop crashing airplanes into houses, not good.

The registration is a Twin Bee. They had a pair of Lycoming 360s with the props in a tractor configuration fitted to them.

oops,, yer right. SN 023

Given the nose down attitude and that they were practicing engine failure suggests a Vmc roll.. sucks

Thankfully there was no post-crash explosion and fire. That would have almost certainly have killed the home's occupants.

Without passing judgement or speculating, all I can say is that practicing engine out procedures is best done at at altitude. The absence of fire and aircraft fragmentation suggests that was not done in this instance.

Do you practice landing single engine as part of multi-training?

Zero thrust, yes, engine actually shutdown, no.
So going up to practice “engine out” probably means various zero thrust exercises some at low level because they’re landing”
