Final Approach
The other day at work I had to plot multiple datasets on a single chart in Excel 2007. I remember what a PIA this is if you don't do it often, so I tried this just to see if it would work (I have only done this for scatter charts):
My data sets each had slightly different values for the abscissa points (X-axis), but they were all in the same range.
This doesn't seem to work in earlier version of Excel...
Hope this helps...YMMV depending on the types of charts you work with...
- Select the data set and make a chart
- Select the next data set and make a new chart
- Select the trace in chart #2 and hit CRTL-C or CTRL-X (copy or cut)
- Select the first chart and do "Home->Edit-> Paste" to copy the trace to the first chart
- Repeat for other data sets
