Hi,

So it might sound stupid, but I was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck with using a scissor jack to change a tire or tube on an aircraft such as a PA-28 or similar. Thinking of the jack being parallel to the longitudinal axis of the plane, wouldn't it be stable enough?

I've seen the little bottle jacks and adapters which seem to work, so I was wondering.

Thanks

You needed a jack?? That's interesting. I didn't think a C140 would be that heavy.

Had to put a new tube in the tailwheel of the Husky last fall. I just lifted it up onto one of my car stands with a thick rag between it and the leaf spring.

For my Cherokee, I use a motorcycle jack

I assume you have an adapter for your gear strut or wheel axle so any jack should work. Maybe you will need to put a wooden block under the jack.
