saving current GPS position in an EFB

You would think it would be straightforward, and maybe I'm just missing it, but I've poked around in Avare, FltPlan Go, iFly, and Garmin Pilot (i.e. Android options) ...
And I can't figure out how to just save one's current GPS position as a waypoint or point of interest or something.
Anyone figured this out?

in garmin pilot click on the map where u r and click on the little flag icon in the circle menu that pops up

Pretty much the same in the others too. The process of naming them is going to vary, but the basic tap or tap and hold will work in most, both Android and iOS.. In iFly, for example, tap the spot and "Add custom waypoint" will be one of the options.
