Runaway fuel truck @KDFW

I am just going to leave this here:

Surveillance video from DFW Airport shows a man jump into a rolling fueling truck. He stepped on the breaks to avoid a crash and likely a huge explosion.

Breaks? And how embarrassing for Denny Kelly that he didn't look at the pictures before commenting.

Fox seems to have redeemed itself partly, by correcting its spelling. The story now mentions "brakes" instead of "breaks."

“A fuel truck is basically a bomb. It's got a tank in the back with thousands of gallons of gasoline, very volatile,” explained retired airline pilot turned aviation consultant Denny Kelly.

Denny must like that spotlight. Nothin' better than amping up the story a little, Den. It gets you in the news.

Another "expert". Just the kind of aviation ambassador we need.

Glad someone took action. I think the tug was moving to stop it if needed.

why did that little tug turn directly in the path the truck was going, regardless if it was a runaway or someone driving it?

The only thing missing was a spelling of 'huuge'.

This is why you should never hand prop a fuel truck without a qualified ramper at the controls.

So hang on. There's no fuel on that truck other than what's there there to operate the truck. Truth be known that tug had more fuel on board.

But wait! "Aviation Expert" Denny Kelly has more!

Every good safety consultant needs to conjure up safety problems...to stay employed I suppose.

If those things are really "bombs" then so is a freshly refuelled airliner full of passengers, non?

When I was attending the fire academy one of our early lessons was a car fire. It was an old hulk but it was still on wheels. Some Excelsior was inside burning and we roll up and start attacking it with a hose. The instructor gives the rear of the car a good push and it starts rolling towards the fire engine. The Engine had been chocked so I grabbed one of the chocks and used it to block the car from rolling further. We learned early on to secure the vehicle first (and not to park downhill from it).

Hey, go easy. He was a pilot for Braniff, which ceased ops only 35 years ago...

Damn, and here I am without an agenda.
It seems that agenda (especially of the personal hateful kind) is a requirement to publish horses**t in media nowadays.
So y'all without agenda, sorry, you won't make good journalists, you are far too objective, we don't need you. We need emotional crybaby c*ap spewing out of all media outlets everywhere. Truth does not sell. Overhyped emotional c*ap does.
But then again, you probably already knew that. :)
