Can anyone recommend a source for a good US-made benchrest/shootingrest?

This will be for target .22lr and .308 (and/or .223) rifles, for the fun of shooting paper at 200yds+

Thank you

Check out Caldwell products. Their Lead Sled line has multiple options. They are sold at Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas, Midway USA.

Many of the Caldwell products are made in China. Certainly all the Caldwell products I've seen in-person were stamped "made in China"

Do you have information on specific versions that are US-made?

My son has a lead sled. Can't say he's all that thrilled with it, either. His AR certainty wiggles in it.

I would check out Bruno Shooters Supply www.brunoshooters.com, and Russ Haydon's Shooters Supply www.shooters-supply.com. Call them for recommendations. If you can get some issues of Precision Shooting magazine, they will have occasional articles on various bench rest products. Very informative.

Sinclair Brownells makes a wide range of rests with different tops. They also make a flat plate that screws into a sling stud that will add a lot of accuracy when trying to shoot at long range using a rifle with a rounded fore end, especially an AR. They also sell a variety of rear bags that are also top quality. Most of the Caldwell stuff is plastic, and does not come close to the precision machining of the Sinclair rests.

Thanks for the responses.

I settled for a Sinclair Competition rest. US-made, very stable, and very nice.
