Remember the time...

...when 81 year old pilot Frank Lang kept telling you to "Give 'er more rudder!" as you flew his Lockheed Constellation -- and you were too embarrassed to tell him that you were already pushing as hard as you could?

Later, with Mary in the right seat, he told her to do the same thing -- and she couldn't reach the rudder pedals at all!

....when I pushed up the throttles on my Citation for the first time, my first ever take off flying any jet. :D:D Flew from San Antonio to Atlanta :D
Almost as big a thrill as watching my son solo!:D

The first time you got shot at and it didn't get your heart racing?

The first time I strapped in a tweet by myself thinking "the USAF is putting me in a twin engine jet and telling me to go do loops, rolls and aerobatics. Man, that seat looks awfully empty!"

The first time seeing the sunrise in the middle of he Atlantic

when there wasn't Class A/B/C/D/E airspace? I don't, but that's a good one the old guys like to talk about.

Remember the time you used the yoke to steer the airplane on the ground?

Wait, what? You mean to tell me turning the yoke doesn't do anything while taxiing? That explains the smirk on my CFI's face while training.

Hey now.

... When TCAs, ARSAs and TRSAs ruled the skies, and (so-called) VIP (even though they're completely disposable) TFRs didn't exist yet?

...that first solo, you looked to the right to clear traffic, the seat was empty and you said "well, I got it up in the air, now I have to put it down."

...oh yeah, that was a month ago. :D

When you needed a briefing you dropped a dime...

...when you realize the airplane performs differently without an instructor in the right seat? I was glad I had a long runway for my first solo, because it just didn't want to go down and slow down...

Cessna 150 had a "Pull-to-Start" handle?

LOL - I love my Cessna 150's pull starter but I have to warn my passengers to not let me knock their teeth out with my elbow.

Mine still does (installed after market, see the "start" position of the keys):

That is a 1975 Cessna 150M. It is always strange when I put the keys on "start", then yell clear, then move my left hand from the key to the throttle and my right hand all the way over to the other side to the pull start. I'm leaning to the right.

My first night air refueling in the A-7 and the Instructor in back lights up a cig while we are on the boom....it became a joke...whenever we were given an EP that involved smoke and fumes our first answer was I'm putting out my cig...does it go away or is the IP still smoking.
