I've always wanted to see it but I know absolutely nothing about it. Anyone have suggestions as to when to go, where to go, where to stay and what to see?

Thanks always!

Joyce

The Coastal Redwoods are quite tall, but not nearly as big around as the Mountain Redwoods (Sequoia Gigantea), so don't expect the really huge trees.

But if you do get to the mountains to see those, expect it to blow your mind if you have never seen them before!

About 4 miles from my home in Calif are some of the largest trees (Calaveras Big Trees State Park), East of Stockton on State Hwy 4, above the gold mining areas of the Sierra Nevada foothills. They are truly worth seeing!

Wow, small world. I grew up about 10 miles from Big Trees. My parents still live in Hathaway Pines (just down the hill from Avery)...
