…winter is better than summer!

A foot of snow was forecast to fall here overnight last night...

So, yesterday, I split some more wood to toss in the back of the truck so I’ll have add’l weight and can run around on the county roads today playing in the foot of snow that we got overnight. Temps were in the teens all day here yesterday. I started off with a sweatshirt and stocking cap but had to get rid of those in short order. I worked for a couple of hours wearing only a light flannel shirt, t-shirt underneath, jeans and work gloves. It was quite comfortable and, actually, I still worked up a bit of a sweat (as you can see from my beautifully coiffed hair). I would’ve been miserable had it been 80 degrees. I love working outside in the winter, I absolutely hate it in the summer:

Then, this morning, the dogs get to take a walk in our first “real snow” of the year…they’re just like kids. Complete unbridled joy and excitement. It’s so fun to watch. Buddy’s specialty is making doggie snow angels:

And then, finally, once we’re done playing for a couple of hours and decide to come inside and warm up, there’s a batch of Tim’s kick-ass chili warming on the stove! Mmmmmmmmm…time for lunch!

And, for extra credit, a shot left over from last year. Another moment of relaxation after playing outside in the snow. I guess this one makes 2839 reasons why winter is better than summer!!!!:

After growing up in the hot, humid Texas summers which last 9 months, give me cold anytime..!!!

Unfortunately here in northwest NM we don't get real snow. Maybe a day or two of snow followed by two weeks of mud.

Although summers are not too bad here at 6500 feet and only 5% to 10% humidity.

Like the cold, like working in the cold, they can use you in Boston. Plenty to do,since it snows every two or three days.

About that last photo...

Cesar, The Dog Whisperer, makes it very clear that dogs need boundaries, rules and limitations. Among those is no dogs on the furniture - EVER!

Yeah, right...

BTW, Jake (on the left) is hanging in there, with no sign of the cancer recurring.

Nice window decal :wink2:

Mine knows which couch he's allowed on and which one he isn't. Ha.

Man they are so cute!

I like all 4 seasons equally

Agreed. Need some awe-inspiring thunderstorms in the Spring (and cool temps), hot summer days for the lake, nice damp fall for the foliage, and some snow in the winter. Unfortunately we don't get much snow, so we make up for it by getting hot for long stretches in the summer, lol.

Back when we had a dog she wasn't allowed on the furniture. And, when we were home she stayed off. The golden retriever hair we found on the couch suggested that she wasn't quite so well behaved when we weren't home. Oh well, she was a sweet beast.

Now the house is owned by a cat. As are the owners of the house. And he goes where ever he darned well pleases. :D

Reason 2839

Been sitting by the pool for 3 hours today and there was some nice talent as well. Winter is great!

I LOVE to see snow coming down....on the eleven o'clock weather report... then go out and make sure the barn is all tidy and ready for morning, go to bed and wear short sleeves tomorrow, too.

Yup, my golden leaves his hair on the throw pillows on the couch (or kicks them off completely) when we aren't home. Self-incrimination, lol. I don't care that he gets up there, but the wife won't let him do it when we're home. He also takes his liberties on the bed in our room when we're at work all day.
