Reading Jim Weir Articles on Kit Plane

I've been enjoying @weirdjim avionics articles at Kit Plane magazine. He had a terrific article on incandescent and LED lighting controls from June 2019.

Haven't seen Jim for a while on POA. Anyone know how he's doing?

Nope and I was wondering the same thing about Jim. Hope he is on vacation somewhere.

He did his BasicMed CMEC back in October, according to the public site, so I presume he's still flying his 182.

His status here is "Ejection Handle Pulled", so it's rather unlikely you'll see him on POA ever again.

He is pretty opinionated. IIRC he got banned.

That's really sad. He was opinionated, sure. But his value to the community was incredible. He knows his stuff and was very willing to share.

I recall that his negative combative attitude far outweighed his value to the community.

Best thing he did was the copper pipe aviation ground base antenna. Works great and an easy project! So he's in my debt, regardless.
