RC Airbus 380

A buddy of mine was flying a HondaJet back when they were still kind of a novelty. He’s sitting on the ramp doing his preflight when this guy strolls up, sticks his head in, and asks if he can talk about the airplane. They end up hanging out for like 45 minutes just shooting the breeze about the HJ and airplanes in general. The guy clearly knew a ton, but said he wasn’t a pilot—just an aviation nerd. They wrap it up, the guy thanks him, then casually walks over to a corporate E190, hops on, and they shut the door behind him. My buddy asks one of the line guys who that was. “Tyler Perry,” the guy says.

It’s amazing how much he’s into RC planes but it seems like he’s not in the least but interested in flying “full scale” planes. I don’t think he even has a PPL. Definitely has the money to get one. You can actually see his house in the background on that video. Looks like a castle.

Some people either don't have the desire, or realize they don't have the time to put into becoming and staying a proficient pilot.

You fly over his house if you're on the downwind for either of the 8's at ATL. It is hard to miss.
