Radio Issue

I have a Bendix KX125, just radio on has background noise but when test squelch you can hear it go on and off. I'm thinking maybe audio amp. Any thoughts Thanks

Does it go away if you turn off alternator, strobes, beacon, etc?

Tail beacon interference?

....capacitors don't last forever...

Some capacitors die if they sit too long with no voltage on them, especially out in a tiedown.
