Initially, moderators must approve new users' posts; the probationary period ends after the user makes a small number (@flyingron, how many?) of posts.

You can become a POA supporter and share photos of your airplane and do an introduction to the community and of course join one of our fly-in’s.

What an odd thing to be concerned with.

It can be aggravating, your posts not showing up immediately. Especially if you need quick help. Happened to me on a lake facebook group. Needed assistance, and my plea for a tow didn't go public until well over 24 hours had passed. Don't know if the OP was in a situation quite as dire as sleeping on a broke down pontoon with very little food and water, but I understand it.

Yeah, it's like you should invest value into a group before needing to withdraw value from it?

Hopefully with a full cooler too.

I don't remember the number, but it was not a lot. Keep making comments to various things you read and it won't take long.

I believe they do it to weed out any bots, spammers, etc.

(Reply to me and that will be one more towards the total you need... )

Yep. I had been a member of the group for years. But, I had, as you said, added very little to the group in that time. I've towed so many broken boats on this lake, it was just early in the season, and a weekday, so there wasn't a soul on the water but us.

Hopefully with a full cooler too.

Not a full cooler, but enough beer to give me a proper headache the next day. We actually didn't have to sleep on the boat. Finally got ahold of a neighbor that came and got us, but it was a very long wait.

I once took my jetski to the ramp but my friend ran out of gas and had to walk to the station

Two hours of waiting on the water was great fun, best part the snow landing on my neck and melting down my back

I wasn't able to post without review for a year, but I found out later that's because one of the mods pulled up my permanent record from high school and discovered that I listed my emergency contact as Wile E Coyote, Esq. That keeps coming back to haunt me.

We look out over a largish lake. Yesterday morning we were amused for a few hours at the sight of a 2-slip covered boat dock that had broken away from shore and was slowly drifting across the lake. Finally in the early afternoon a boat came out, docked into one of the slips, and slowly pushed it back to shore. Not the shore from which it appeared to be drifting away from, but rather into a hidden cove across the lake from us. So now we are joking about dock pirates operating on the lake.

Aviation content: A Beaver on floats has been operating on the lake for about a week, taking off in front of our house on short sightseeing hops to nearby lakes every other day or so, then returning to dock at a home across the town beach from us. Very cool. We run to the windows whenever we hear the radial engine starting up.

The headache was from forgetting the sunblock, not the beer ;)

I never forget the sunblock. I haven't had a sunburn in 20 years! It's also in the pocket on the beer cooler.

What SPF rating? And do you have a cool hat and aviator sunglasses? Just making sure we can be friends.

Did you tell the cop that your alias was Tater Salad?
Had to look that one up! I knew it had to be a comedian, but figured it was the guy that does the jalapeno on a stick character.

Where I grew up, the mayor was also the plumber, and the chief of police was also a plaster guy. There wasn't a lot of formality involved in government or LE, which was really a good thing for everyone.

50. I have cool hats, but cheap sunglasses.

Depends on how much of a perceived troublemaker you are.
