QT Halos' in stock!!!!

Still in stock. Got mine a week or two ago.

I actually haven't used them yet. lol.

I'm just getting back into flying after a several year layoff, so I needed a new headset and had read a lot about these. I have my medical exam on the 23rd, then I'll book some time. But if they basically work as well as an ANR set without all that bulk I'm definitely for it. Most that have them swear by them.

One thing I did have to figure out though, when I put them on, mic on the left (there are 3 ways you can actually wear them), the mic didn't come around in front of my mouth. It was at the corner of my mouth. I didn't realize that the back part expands. If you hold onto the the part that goes over your right ear, and pull it out, it extends, causing the mic then to wrap around to the front of your mouth. So you can adjust how far the mic comes around to your mouth.

Be sure to watch that video on the site on how to properly install the yellow foam inserts. There's a particular way you have to do it to get the full benefit.

very interested in wearing them on the shoulders. However, I have a feeling that the mic won't be in the proper location when looking around.

Yeah, they don't normally last but an hour or two at the most.

I got the Halo's.
Haven't flown with them yet. First impression is that everything I've read is true.
1. you must get them to seal well. Not a problem for me. Keeping them sealed may be another issue
2. They are light weight.
3. The mic is short and doesn't go in front of my mouth very well...and wants to move up to my nose ALL the time.
4. Nice for wearing sunglasses.
If I can get the mic thing worked out, they'll probably be great.
I did listen to some music with them connected to my phone. Not bad....but not as good as my Bluetooth LG Tone earbuds.

For good mic position, push the wire behind your head as low as it will go, then hold it there while moving the mic.

With practice, it's a one-hander (just brace it with your thumb), as when I move the mic up to eat / drink and back down to talk.

You'll love your Halos!!

I have 'em. Love 'em. I do wish the mic gain was a bit higher, as my mic doesn't seem to be as picky uppy on the intercom as my other headsets. But I don't have a giant head clamp pressing on my ears for 3 hours at a time either. Can wear a hat and sunglasses with 'em. And the sound quality is outstanding. Just make sure the mic part is actually facing your mouth. The mic boom can get rotated away from you if you're not paying attention. I have the forward facing part of the mic boom painted with a bit of white paint so I know when it's facing me and when it isn't.

This is a great idea!

And I agree with what you've said. I love mine. Mic gain could be better, but it's an extremely minor issue overall. LOVE mine.

Make sure that one flat end of the mic is facing your mouth and the other flat end is facing away. If the rounded end is facing your mouth then the noise cancelling is cancelling your voice.

Yeah. I had that issue... which is why I marked the boom since you can't see the mic side with the pop filter or mic fuzzy thing on it.

You have to pull the right side out that goes over your right ear to make it go in front of your mouth. Hold onto the part that goes behind your head, then pull on the part that goes over your right ear. It lengthens that piece so that it cause the mic to go in the front of your mouth.

thanks Brian
I have tried that, yet it just keeps wanting to move back into place, with the mic/ear bent area re-seating over my left ear....and the part I pulled out just sticking forward without really doing anything.
I worked to bend the unit somewhat, but I don't think I can feel good about bending it as hard as it seems to need (right where the mic connects to the headband).
I'll keep working with it. Who knows, maybe it'll be fine at the corner of my mouth.
I guess I could talk through my nose too ha ha
