So we have had about 18 inches of snow over the last 24 hours. Typically I snow blow my drive and then snow blow the neighbors drive.

Today after the second day of snow removal, my neighbor Susan said she wanted to give me something for clearing her drive and car of snow for last two days.

I laughed and said keep smiling Susan. She insisted on giving me something for clearing her driveway.

I finally gave in and said Pumpkin Pie please....:) Susan bakes a mean Pumpkin Pie...:)

I really hope I don’t get offers like that. I’d be clearing the whole block... at least until after I ate all of the pies and could no longer fit out of the door to get outside.

Yum. A good pumpkin pie is near the top of my list when it comes to dessert.

"Susan bakes a mean pumpkin pie."

I so want to break this down, but I so know I shouldn't.

Seriously...anyone can go buy a store bought pie but I would shovel a driveway for a fresh baked homemade pie!

I made 5 pies from our pumpkin on the porch and gave away four of them. 2 cups pumpkin, 3/4 cup brown sugar, 12 oz can condensed milk, 2 eggs whipped, 1 tsp each cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and ginger. Mix it all together, pour in a pie crust and bake at 400 until it is done. Done depends on how wet the pumpkin was.

I always love a good slice of pumpkin pie. A restaurant around here makes the best I've ever tasted. Unfortunately, they only offer it around Thanksgiving....what gives? :dunno:

I love pumpkin pie. My Grandma's pie was really, really good and had plenty of spice to it, but it sure was "heavy." One piece would last you a long time., The store bought ones are light in comparison and not quite as flavorful, but much smoother in texture.

Yeah. I've never truly found a good tasting store bought pumpkin pie. Many of them either have too much nutmeg or they're very generic tasting. Costco sells a decent pie, but that's about as far as it goes with the store bought selections.

Please do not follow @RJM62 egg suggestions. You could cause the end of the world.

Of course everyone here is aware that pumpkins in Alaska can weigh upwards of 1100 pounds. The record is over 1400 pounds. That's a whole lotta pie....

Only it ain't pumpkin; it's usually another kind of squash, at least that's the case in canned "pumkin" most used in pumpkin pie. Bummed me out when I heard (Alton Brown, maybe?). Apperently there isn't a Fed definition of "pumpkin" - and the big orange ones we carve up ain't what goes in the can.
