Prop AD becomes overhaul

So my 92zk prop was due for 500 hour AD, and got a quote for 1.8k. Sent in, the prop shop told me the bearings are corroded, so have to replace that. Then when I got my invoice, it turned into an overhaul with the bearing replaced.
So suppose to 1.8k +0.4k(bearings) now its 2.8k(overhaul)+0.4K(bearings)
Prop was overhauled 7 years ago 500SMOH.
Is this normal? ( when inspecting prop and a lot more problem shows up and require an overhaul?) is there anything that IRAN can’t fix?
Or is my service being upgraded without my permission?
I told them “Only do 500AD” when I sent in

The shop should be able to answer that question and why they went the overhaul route without your permission. Unless your workorder/quote has some verbiage that gives the shop the option to overhaul vs IRAN.

In some cases yes. But I don't know with your prop. Sometimes the cost for IRAN and OH are the same or very close and for a few extra steps in the manual you get a TSO: 0.

Three years ago my prop went in for overhaul. They found corrosion in the hub. After weighing the options of new or used hub, with old blades (3), vs new prop I opted for a new prop. 4 AMU difference and zero time on new prop.
