If you were to quit halfway through your private pilot training, how long are you able to use those hours towards your license in the future?

Would you be able to use them towards a fixed wing add-on if you went and got your rotary private instead?

They never "expire". But of course qualifying for a certificate is a matter of proficiency as well as the right number of hours.

Because rotary will involve relocating to the west coast on a limited income unfortunately.

OK, that doesn't really make sense, but most folks do fixed first and then add rotary after they hold a PP certificate.

But no, hours never expire.

Does it make more sense when I mention my GI Bill will pay for all my rotary training? I'm gonna need all the money I can get to pay for the move and what not.

Your GI Bill will pay for all your FW training as well. What you've probably seen are these promo vids from various RW 141 schools enticing veterans to attend their programs. What they don't tell you is the reality of getting a job after 80 grand, 200 hrs and an AA degree. Your chances of work in the FW side are just as good as the RW sector. Probably even better.
