like the post says, let's see some of your favorite airplanes. It can be any airplane, not just the ones you have flown. So I guess "favorite looking" qualifies.

Me first:
Piper M600

Beechcraft king air

And the upcoming Cessna Denali

And my favorite plane to fly so far, The tried and true Piper Warrior

Sweet. Did you see a lot of those in the Air Force?

Seen a few. Over 800 built and we lost almost half in Vietnam. Shot down and accidents. The Thud pilots really had big brass ones, dangerous missions.

My baby. 50+ year old engineering (and a couple of mods...) has brought me home every time for the last couple decades.
Copter guy eh? Cool beans

Picking nits, I know. But that is a RADIAL engine. Not Rotary. There is a huge difference.
I asked what it was, not stated it was rotary.I figured it was a radial. It just looks a lot like the sopwith Rotary engines of ww1.

I've seen it before, but what is that last thing?

Lockheed P-38 Lightning. One of the prolific Kelly Johnson designs, as is the 104 pictured above it. The P-38 is the type of airplane that was used for the now infamous 1000 mile round trip mission down low over the Coral Sea in the South Pacific in the spring of 1943 to shoot down and kill Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, one of the key planners of the Pearl Harbour attack 16 months earlier.

That is precisely why it was created.

OV-10 Bronco .....had a squadron of these at Osan AB Korea in the mid 70s, replacing the O-2 "Oscar Deuce".

Nice pic Jim. They were originally Navy planes that came into existence just as WW2 was ending. Probably used them in the Korean War. Air Force adopted them for FAC and pilot rescue in Vietnam, a role the A-10 does now. Big ole badass Warbird! Love 'em!
