Plane Down in Houston

A twin went down near my home drome of Sugar Land, TX today (KSGR). The pilot was able to walk away, but the plane was destroyed by post-impact fire. Thankfully it wasn't me or anyone I know.

Yeah, I saw the coverage while I was getting ready to visit a customer this morning. Ch 11's helicopter was shooting video and that fire looked bad. It was good to see that the pilot walked away from it. It will be interesting to see what went wrong to bring a light twin to grief like that.

One report says he was; "flying sideways over the interstate". Sounds to me like he was looking for a place to put it down to do the least amount of damage. Mission accomplished!

I'm surprised that no one has ever hit the antenna tower at the prison next to KSGR.
