I'm going to speculate ... SR22, no chute, sounds like a missile,

My guess is that on the touch and go it was too low for useful chute deployment.

The only way that statement would make sense is an inflight fire.

Someone on the red board from the area intimated a base/final stall/spin. I think that is likely considering the tight debris field.

Ran out of fuel and landed right on top of a burn pile. Happens all the time in South America

The fact that they plead to be searching the wooded area so far from the main wreckage in the photo above makes me think he might have hit the tree tops.

Heard this at KEET the other day. Wife of a mechanic at KEET was walking out of a Publix, which is 2-3 miles from the airport, and said it was running rough (sputtering) as it flew overhead towards the airport. Also the rocket did go off after it hit the dirt and was found a short distance away from the crash site. I wonder if the pilot ran a tank dry and didn't switch to another tank in time? Not familiar w/ Cirrus planes.
