Piston twin for the mountains: Do they exist?

Nor will any other piston twin short of something certified under Part 25 or the CAB predecessor to that (like a DC-3).

Now there's an idea. Single-engine performance, and no classier way to arrive! Get a DC-3! :goofy:
 
Sounds like I need to design a twin that will do turboprop speeds with piston engines and provide the desired climb rates. While we're at it, we'll make it run on Jet A.

Based on how often those DC3 engines tend to have issues, you'll probably get a lot of single-engine practice... :)
