Pipistrel Panthera - Can you buy one?

This plane first flew 7 years ago. I am not sure you can buy one yet.
Very curious and quite disappointed.

They were selling a non-certified prototype a while ago, that’s the only one I’ve ever seen for sale. Pipistrel certainly sells planes but also scoops up national and EU government money to do projects that will never make it through the hurdles for pubic sale - the Pantera has always struck me as an example of the latter.

Prior to 2010 I had a Slovenian girlfriend who was well placed in a senior government job to observe a lot of the goings on.

They really should bring it to market. It would probably sell.

Easy to build a demonstration prototype, especially if done with free money, harder and very expensive to certify it for sale.

I was wondering if they would give Cirrus some competition. Apparently not if they are not going to certify and sell them.

Some competition would be good.
