Hello,

Today was my first day checking out Piper warrior with my CFI.

The engine would not start and after few trial we saw that just switching on the Master, propellor would start turning (no need to put the keys in).

Per my CFI it could be an issue with grounding.

Anybody faced similar situation before?

We had to abort the flight.

Thanks in advance.

Although your CFI does not seem to have any knowledge of the workings of the starter system on a piston engine, he got this one right: it is an issue and it should ground the airplane until it is fixed.

See what I did there? :D

Well it did create a path to ground...it's just that the path ran through the starter...:D
