I am doing an annual on a1975 Arrow II with a leak on the rod side of the actuator. I have a seal kit for it, but I am having trouble figuring how to get the cylinder apart to change the seals. It is a Synchro Devices Model SFA-232-3 (Piper P/N 67505-000). There isn't anything in the Piper Maintenance manual on actuator disassembly/assembly, and there aren't any except in the salvage yards that I have found. If there is a seal kit, then someone must have a way to change them.

Could someone that has done this before kindly guide me in this repair? Thank you!

Similar seal kits I'm familiar with had the instructions with the kit. What is the seal kit brand and part number?

It's from a company called Plane Parts, Inc. P/N PPLGA15. Title is "67505-00 Landing Gear Actuator Kit". No instructions. Contains the three O-rings, a back-up ring, and two cotter pins (AN380-2-3 and AN380-3-3). Another IA explained to me how to take it apart and referenced a different section in the service manual than where I had looked.

Thank you!

Another IA put me straight on how to take the actuator apart, and sent me to a different section in the service manual for the procedure.

Thank you all!.
