Pilots of America Member Map

Well, I was gone, but I did see plenty of folks who haven't been here in a while still on there.

I also found this:

I just added another Alaska pin to the map. I need to find a different picture though...

Well I'm in there now , And no not in the tux

Hmmm... It automatically put me in Burkina Faso. I guess that'll do for now since that's where I'm at. I'll have to figure out how to move it to Arkansas later when I finally put roots there.

Lance, the picture of that 100LL price just may be a collector's item! :)

There is code on that Frappr map page to let you embed it on any site. Would sure like to see the map on the front page of POA!

Code:
<div><embed quality="high" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.frappr.com/ajax/yvmap.swf" flashvars="host=http://www.frappr.com/&origin=unknown&lo=1&mvid=343021" salign="l" align="middle" scale="noscale" width="600" height="400" ></embed><div style="width:400px;text-align:left;"><a href="http://visitor.frappr.com/?sig=visitor_map&src_mvid=343021&origin=unknown" target=_blank><img src="http://frappr.com/i/gyo.gif" border=0/></a><a href="http://www.frappr.com/pilotsofamerica?src=flash_map&sig=visitor_map&src_mvid=343021&origin=unknown&ct=seemore" target=_blank><img src="http://frappr.com/i/s.gif" border=0/></a><a href="http://www.frappr.com/pilotsofamerica?src=flash_map&sig=visitor_map&src_mvid=343021&origin=unknown&ct=pendingpins" target=_blank><img src="http://frappr.com/dyn_map/344589/origin:unknown/p.gif" border=0/></a><a href="http://www.frappr.com/?a=feedback&type=vm" target=_blank><img src="http://frappr.com/i/h.gif" border=0/></a></div></div>

Done, I put a mugshot in there but will figure out how to replace it with the Viking Witch (N8388W)

Is it a good idea to add your e-mail address to a site like that? Seems to me spammers could harvest it and add you to another series of spam lists.

Where do you get the map of the U.S. with the states filled in indicating which states you've flown in?

I've been introduced to a site that will let us create our own member location map, so I went ahead and set one up!

http://www.frappr.com/pilotsofamerica

Click on the above link, and click "Add Yourself", and fill out your data (name, zip code and a little message "shoutout"), and then click "Add me!".

The more people fill it out, the better view of our demographics we'll get!

Enjoy!

I'm not seeing the map image at this location anymore. Frappr broken?

Yep, me too. Oh Well, 100LL is getting awfully expensive anyway. I'll save it for whenever I get that new airplane I'm dreaming about. BTW, if I was on that map it would be here in, "Vegas, babyB)"

Be Well,

Jimmy

If anybody likes my map style I use 'Route Browser' which is a companion to 'LogBook Pro' The two together are pretty expensive ($100'ish) but if you're already using it then just run a report and you can then export to Google Earth.

I then just adjusted in in Google Earth to get what I liked and made a snapshot. Opened in a photo editor and saved as a JPG. Then uploaded to my signature line.

Okay, it might be a lot of work. But it looks pretty cool IMO.

Which link? If you mean frappr.com, note that this thread was started several years ago and was resurrected by a necropost. Frappr.com has been toast for several years.
