Plane envy is a problem of pilots.

Thou shall not covet thy neighbors plane.

I wonder if I had a new SR22 if I'd want the new DA-50 when it comes out?

Nah... I'm too smart and too cheap!

I'm always happy with the plane ,I own at the time. Do I want another ,maybe but I'm not jealous of what another pilot owns.

Not really. Buy what you want. More jealous of those who have a mission that requires something faster. I can't justify it. But it's more about the mission than the airplane.

Ask yourself if you are flying with a group of pilots to a vacation spot and you leave first but are the last to get there, what are your thoughts when you get passed? Jealousy of the speed? Upset at your lack of speed?

Jealous of the latest glass panel upgrade?!?!

Never really cared about the speed. Comfort level, maybe. Most of what we fly isn't cabin class so that one is easy to avoid.

Glass panel, twinges of jealousy until I see the price tag. Haha. Not jealous at all after that.

I must be a plane slut then, because I like flying as many planes as I can. I'd even fly my neighbor's plane.

I used to be fine plotting along at 120kts in an archer until the day I got passed by a Bonanza that took off, claimed to altitude (5500 feet), passed me on the left side and disappeared off into the sunset....

Haven't got there yet. I still can't believe I can drive out to the airport and fly my own airplane any time the weather is good.

I coveted a Cardinal I saw on the ramp at Bolton last weekend. Later as I was getting ready to drive home, it was taxiing out. All I could do was stop &

It's a California A/C but if it was based around here, I'd consider calling the pilot JIC he was considering selling it. All I need is a 125 kt plane...

Renting at TZR or tenant? Did not know any one else was around Columbus other than Steingar.

Need to meet up some time.

Faster airplane means less time in the air.

;-)

David, I'm based at TZR now after years at Madison County. Let's meet up at i74 or PMH soon. Be happy to pick you up if you don't have access to A/C.

Are you at Newark and if so, do you know Barney Kempter?

I've flown ultralights cross country. The trips are something real special in my aviator career.

Cool. I teach out of Newark, live in Ashville south of LCK. Is Barney the black Piper owner? If so, yea, know who he is.

Definitely gotta meet up some time.

I love to look at nearly any kind of airplane. I wish I could have one of everything, but I wouldn't call it jealousy, just a pipe dream.

As cool as some hardware is, I'm just happy to get to fly. I'll be happier when I get my own, even though it won't be something that turns heads.

Never understood the whole jealously thing. Flying what I can afford is not someone else's problem, it is mine.

I'm just glad I can fly.

Barney has a 150 last I checked. . .likely a different person. I know exactly where Asheville is, used to report over Ashville when I was inbound landing Rick back in my training days. LCK is where I trained.
