My 3 yr old daughter and I undertook a little project to make a pin map of all (in reality, probably more like the majority) of the places I have flown myself as PIC. Fun project and piece of man cave artwork - also gives me some targets for new places to go (Pacific Northwest, North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, Mexico...)
I used 3 and 3/4 boxes of "approximately 50 pins" each. So I'd guess around 180-190... My logbook has 331 airports in it which is why it isn't all of them but with the map scaling, I just can't get enough pins in tight spaces to pin the dozens of airports in a tiny section of NJ that I flew into when I lived in NYC for example. I also have a few in my logbook that are in countries not pictured on this US/N. America map.
I promise it isn’t intentional! Same with Nebraska and Wyoming... something I will have to address. Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge. And the one below that is Macon Co, in NC. Because of the angle of the photo and the fact that the pin heads are >1/4” proud of the map, all the red balls look a bit higher up than where they are pinned.
Ha! The map doesn't quite go far enough... It's meant to be VC Bird Intl in Antigua - my longest day of flying in the slowest plane I've ever had (TAPA -> TJBQ -> MYLS -> KFPR -> KHTS -> KTZR or in other words, Antigua -> Puerto Rico (customs/immigration) -> Bahamas (customs/immigration) -> Florida (customs/immigration) -> fuel stop in WV -> back home to Ohio all in one long day at 170 KTAS)
