PATRIOTS = SUPERBOWL CHAMPS!!!!!!!!

Tiger . . . Please keep in mind that since dumping cable, I don't really watch much sports and therefore didn't care or watch the game last night. Who won didn't impact my life in any way.

It was actually a Lion (male) unless my eyes were deceiving me. Also, the game wasn't on "cable", so you could have watched it. Most sports have no effect whatsoever on peoples' lives, but that isn't really a reason to discount them.

In real football news, Barcelona played a brilliant game against Villarreal yesterday!

Lol, want to talk about a sport that will put you to sleep watching it?!! Futball (soccer) ranks right up there with golf and bowling as far as things that will put you to sleep in 20 minutes after watching on tv.

Then Brett Favre was a conspiracy. He made so many idiotic throws over his career, it wasn't even funny. Don't chalk up to a conspiracy what can be deemed as incompetence.

I think this one is worse than anything Favre did, but considering that at least THREE team leaders (Offensive Coordinator, Head Coach, and Quaterback) had to go along with this call is scary. It wasn't a quaterback making a stupid throw to save a play, it was premeditated stupidity, and possibly arrogance.

Well, there was 6 lineman and 2 linebackers on the play, so Lynch up the gut may not be the answer there. I think *a* pass play is the right call, maybe just not *that* pass play. And I actually don't have a problem with that play call so much. I pin it on the QB (and I say that as a former QB) for making a bad throw. If he throws it 18" further right, touchdown, 'Hawks win. Wilson also tipped his hand by looking that way pre-snap. They had a down to play with, if things look tight on that side, call the play as it stands and roll out, and throw it away if necessary.

I had plenty of play calls where I could see my #1 guy wasn't going to be my number #1 guy on that play based on the defense, but I didn't try forcing it in there.

You go to Lynch on that play. I don't care how many are in the box, it's 1-yard. If the O-line wants it bad enough, they'll get a yard. Downs 3 and 4 you can debate about where to go with a pass or play-action. Awful call by the coaches. I don't care about the result of the game as I don't have a "team" in the NFL, but it was a good match up until that point.

He was only 1-5 in the same situation during the season. Over 60% of the time the pass play was a touchdown. 20% vs 60%....

hindsight is such a curse

No doubt, however this decision (like any other) should have been evaluated on its own. They were averaging over 5yd/carry during the game against the Patriots. Five down linemen and a pair of LB's back off of the LOS. Almost every pass attempt had been tightly-contested by a tough secondary. Second down I hand off to Lynch and see if I can bust through a tired defense. Downs 3/4 go to whatever play they want to go with pass/run/play-action/qb sneak/etc.

They actually had 6 and 2 which is why Carroll said he called for a pass play.

You haven't seen many games coached by Pete Carroll. His tenure with the Pats and his first year at 'SC were full of stupid calls like that.

And go back and watch USC's next-to-last offensive series against Texas in the 06 Rose Bowl. Cost 'em a three-peat (probably).

The great ,arrogant, college coach ,cost Seattle the game. Pats rule.

at least Pete Carroll had the class to complement Butler on his interception.

Someone has to win, and someone has to lose. The lesson in Super Bowl 49 (most widely watch, highly rated SB in history) is too never, ever give up. Ever.

This Super Bowl 49 will become a "standard" for American fortitude.

The post-game and post-halftime funnies from this year have been the BEST ever!!! LOL!!!

If it was intended to portray a male lion they likely would have included a mane.

Going to need a giant robot lion to see the parade over the snowbanks today.
Bunch of snow and it is parking bans and house arrest, unless royalty wants a parade.
