A little oneupmanship yesterday. :)

I took a friend flying in the Dakota yesterday to introduce him to our club and our airplanes.

As we settled into a comfortable 135k cruise, he kept looking at the airspeed and seemed a little nervous.

As we came in to land again, at 100k for flaps, then 90, 80, and 75k on final, he was watching the airspeed like a hawk.

When we stopped, I asked him about his focus on the airspeed.

He said "135k is my stall speed and everything slower than that was REALLY SCARY!" (Said with a grin).

We walked over to his hangar to check out what he flies. Panel envy!

It's funny that the last time he flew small planes was 20 years ago, with me, when he got me back into GA after a long hiatus.

No envy here. Too much crap getting the way of...wait for it...flying.

There is something to be said about SEL simplicity... we can just crank the motor, wait for oil temp/pressure to be good, then go.

[tease] They need an hour to get the high score before they can push back. [/tease]

I had to read that a couple times. That didn't look like a Dakota panel to me.

yeah, that's no Dakota panel ... not even the Frankenkota! :)

Bombardier Challenger 604 ... nice glass, eh, hoser? :)

A friend of mine drives a 604, it's a very nice airplane. The main circuit breaker panel in that airplane is twice as large as my main instrument panel. :D

Looks like an awesome cockpit! The technology they have is amazing

My brothers and I went with my dad on a trip to Madrid last week. Its a 767-400 cockpit. Not too shabby I must say!

He took these pictures back when he was flying the 747 a few years ago. I think he over Russia en route to Tokyo.
