Pancho gone

Wow, Mike, that's a sad surprise. I'm really sorry about that.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know exactly what you're feeling. We just lost our Westie.

She'll be at the Rainbow Bridge .

Mike, I am sorry for your loss. I know how painful it is when you lose your best friend.

She had her forever home, which is all that any dog really wants and not all are fortunate enough to get.

I feel for you... really I do. I had high hopes for Pancho.

What to say...? You cared, and you are better for it, even though it hurts right now.

I wonder how Mike is doing? He hasn't been on here since he started this thread. I hope he's okay.

I called him earlier this afternoon and he is doing as can be expected and sounds ok. He told me a little more of what happened and how quick little Pancho went. I'll leave it to him if he wants to share that here. Mostly it was filling in the details from his earlier post. He is busy with work and a few other things. He also told me he went to a bulldog breeder the other day and petted her fur-babies and that made him feel better.

Thanks, Scott.

Thanks everyone.

I like those pictures of Pancho! I miss her.

Pancho wasn't sick that night. It was routine until she woke me with the funny noise she was making, like she wanted to throw up. That was just before 2:30 AM. I got dressed and she even walked out the front door. She didn't want to go down the stairs so I carried her to the car. She didn't live to make it to the emergency vet just 3 miles away. She was gone by 2:47.

I cried myself to sleep after I posted here.

Pancho arranged for me to get a boy who I found out only at the end had been rescued by the very same lady in MO!

I'll let you know about him later.

Hey, I'm so glad to hear that you've found another companion! You need to tell us about that amazing coincidence!

awww, I'm sorry Mike. I'm glad you found a new buddy though.

Well, I don't know how you can do it... since losing Peg I still get a little choked up just hanging out with other dogs that I know; can't imagine taking the plunge again.
I tell myself I mostly want to give myself time to learn to appreciate not being "tied down" again, but I know I just couldn't get involved again with another canine companion any time soon.... if ever.

But we each have our ways, and our reasons....all the best to you and Bubba! He is a lucky dog.
