Yesterday I had a trip to Austin with a day to kill there, so I rented a car and, besides the usual restaurant hunting and mandatory trip to Amy's, I went to visit the capitol building. Apparently it is very open to the public; you can stroll around most of the floors, examine the incredible architecture and finishes/furnishings. Absolutely cavernous interior. http://www.tspb.state.tx.us/SPB/gallery/ArchDet/ArchDet.htm http://www.tspb.state.tx.us/SPB/gallery/SigSpace/SigSpace.htm There is a fascinating exhibit on at UT of dissections of the human body which I caught. Although controversial, this has incredible educational potential; especially for those in the medical field. http://www.ourbodytheuniversewithin.com/ Full weekend. Had to go back to work for a rest today.
