Only two-thirds of Millennials believe the Earth is round

I look at this from a different perspective...since many of these millennials live in self absorbed limited sphere of a bubble of digital existence detached from the real world (which is another problem) and never personally experienced the curvature of the earth they have simply developed a healthy mistrust of information that they have been blindly force fed to them their entire lives.

...or they are just idiots...either way, question everything.

I do actually, hence my purpose for asking the question. I would imagine they would have a difficult time coming up with a logical explanation.

Dudes, I really LIKE millennials, or at least the fraction that falls within the stereotype - they are so easy to compete with. Some/some of 'em are driven, focused, and understand the difference between tired and exhausted, and can be relentless and self-disciplined. But plenty aren't, and anecdotally, I think/think a larger percent of the group are a bit feckless, and pretty easy to overwhelm when faced with a driven, ambitious competitor. Their kids will push the other way, probably all be workaholics.
 
To my knowledge I personally do not know any flat earth types. Which is good as I’d probably be overwhelmed with a desire to call them a dumbass to their face. Of all of the whacky denials of science or facts this has to be the whackiest. Go ahead and debate evolution or climate change if you must but Earth not being round? ROTFLMAO.
 
It is better to smoke dope. That way you have an understandable excuse.

Its obvious that when a huge number of people believe that the news media, social media and schools are telling the truth, without ever looking at things for themselves....there is going to be trouble. Socialist or Conservative makes no difference. If you aren't willing to actually look into something for yourself and determine the answers....you're doomed to your fate. Many of them believe wikipedia is the gods honest guaranteed truth.....even after watching their friends edit or update wiki pages. Kind of makes you wonder doesn't it?
A flight from Chicago to Sydney and then from Brisbane to London, then London to chicago is proof enough for me even without the other evidence that overwhelms us. The earth is an odd shaped round thing.

The flat earthers do believe the earth is round....on the outer edge...and flat on top...anyway that why it is shown as round on the fake space station views of earth...
 
In a way I can’t blame some of them, like those who think the moon landing was faked. The world space programs are pitiful considering we landed on the moon in 1969.

I dunno, when I look up at the moon each night it looks like a flat disk to me. :stirpot:

That's a little horrifying for sure, but I have to wonder how many of the people saying that they're "not sure" we're actually trolling the survey. I mean, if somebody asks me a ridiculous question I will probably give them a ridiculous answer

How do you explain day/night cycles and seasons?

An animation of the day/night cycle in FETDay and night cycles are easily explained on a flat earth. The sun moves in circles around the North Pole. When it is over your head, it's day. When it's not, it's night. The light of the sun is confined to a limited area and its light acts like a spotlight upon the earth.
