One of y'all should buy this plane

That is a VERY nice little plane! Thanks for sharing that!

I had one... paid 12K for it, got 12K for it but it wasn't nearly that nice. Good solid little bird, but not overly exciting. Hope the guy gets a decent price for it.

I already have one, thank you.

My Colt is nearly identical to the one in the link. Colts are fun, simple airplanes. Similar to a 150 but a bit better in almost every respect. Shorter takeoff, better climb, slightly faster cruise and enough useful load to carry two full size humans, full fuel and have a bit left for baggage.

The Colt is inexpensive to buy and to operate. I average about 6 GPH. In 11 years I've spent about 1 AMU on repairs, most of which were normal wear items (battery, brakes, shock cords).

Someone looking for a weekend flyer could do a lot worse.

Vortex generators on a Colt? Are you kidding me? Seriously, it looks like a nice little plane. I've got a bit of time in a taildragger converted Colt... what a delightful flying little rag & tube airplane... was more fun to fly than a Cub. Piper should've built them with sticks instead of yokes.

Colts are on my short list so I am looking at them often. That is a nice clean looking one. The price is right around what you would expect. Most are around that plus or minus a few AMUs.

House is paid for in 5 years then... :goofy: Mission is flying on nice days out of 2K grass strip. Super low maintenance and low fuel use. Occasional cross country but mostly boring holes in the sky.

By the way same plane is listed on Barnstormers for 16,500.

ETA: If you all want to do a group buy I can keep it here and you can all come fly it once in awhile. :D

That's a sweet buy for anyone looking for a nice little multi use airplane.

Very nice. Good little fliers when the engine's running. If the engine stops, you better be over something good to land on, cuz you are comin' down now.

Noisy as heck too, but that can be fixed.

And steep, too.

They don't glide well?

I guess that makes sense. Stubby wings.

Yeah, maybe the Seller, "SaxophoneKing" will take my 1956 Selmer Mark VI tenor for it...:ihih:

I've got a Martin Tenor and Bari, but that's only if he wants to sound right, not like the Screech-tin Selmers.

I'm a "Conn" man, myself, but the Selmer's market value might entice a collector. Martin's are nice, once you get used to the weird ergos...

I once repaired a ConnOSax. Weirdest thing I've ever worked on. Talk about goofy fingering. Built like a tank.

I know we're pretty good at getting off topic around here, but this is a particularly good example. Going from Piper Colts to saxophones in only 20 posts is darned impressive.

Vortex generators do help, even on a Colt. People are even putting Super Cub tail feathers on them. And Piper did build them with sticks, they're called Vagabonds and Clippers. ;)

Wanna go half on her?

I do but this isn't the right time for that plane for me. Otherwise I would have bought it.

We're sort of dead set on getting a 172 1st quarter of next year.

This colt would be a great 2nd plane though.
I will have one one of these days. Either as a 2nd plane or when I am old and crusty.

Putting around in a ragwing is super appealing to me.

That looks like a squeaky clean aircraft!

The Vagabond is nice but it will swap ends faster than anything else I have flown in tailwheel... had a friend who owned one and wanted to get a bit more proficient! :hairraise:
