One more logging vs. acting as PIC

Just want to clarify in my mind one point that we haven't flogged to death already (where's that emotocon when you need it?) -

Pilot is receiving dual instruction (in this case for an IR).

Pilot's medical isn't valid due to a (hopefully) temporary condition.

CFII in the right seat providing dual instruction.

Pilot still LOGS PIC, correct? He's ASEL, and the plane is ASEL. He's the sole manipulator. He just couldn't ACT as PIC due to the current medical deficiency.
