SeaTac and Philadelphia international rate as the 'back side' of Satan....

Because of my job.. I rode the airlines off and on through the 90's. Since 2002, I've ridden as 'live cargo' on nearly every airline in the us and Canada. I won't say air travel was glamorous in the 90's but I will say things since 911 haven't gotten better. In fact, big business and big government have made air travel pretty much miserable.

Sorry, Cranky today because I did what I normally do: go to the airport two hours early, simply to wait in line. Seems the airline check-in staff were running behind. Once they did decide to come in to work, they dumped a thousand or so of us onto the not so capable tsa...

Breakfast... Yea, forget that...

Then another line at the gate before we board...

Say, how much are king airs selling g for now?

Please refer to my Mooney Rocket thread for relief!

The Rockies to the east coast on one tank from your location.:D. And when you fit it, I WANT a ride!!!!

There's a reason the business jet industry is booming these days.

That leaves the airlines in a race to the bottom to get the poor people money.

Unfortunately my wallet isn't big enough for a turbine, and with the distance and frequency of the travel I do, a piston twin wouldn't get the job done... So I ride the bus.

Sorry Cranky today. I do miss working for one company. Let's just say that riding the redeye isn't that bad when you are in the back of a falcon 20...

We use the airlines once a year for training. Always hate it.

Big government has made airline travels miserable? How so? It was the " govmint" that subsidized the airlines in the first place to make them viable, then it's been the " govmint" that's had to bail them out several times due to poor management and fuel prices that were and are way overpriced. It certainly is not pilots wages that are the problem today! Airlines have cost the taxpayers billions.

Sorry - I'm in the middle on the political spectrum: the airlines aren't helping themselves, but the TSA didn't exactly help make things better.

Even when in the ARMY I never felt so much like a pice of meat (cattle) as when I'm wading through the sea of humanity at these airports. (And we rode in actual cattle cars!) Don't get me wrong - the terminals in ATL and the like are just like the streets of NYC, but the mess to get in isn't good. This isn't the airlines - that is the TSA.

Anyway, I'll bail at this point - political arguments solve little on the internet. But it is frustrating after a short night of sleep...

By that scale, Newark (EWR) is Ninth Circle of Hell.

Strange - I don't remember newark being that bad. Although it has been a year or so since I've been through there. Wait... ok, I remember - getting in and out is not bad, but heaven forbid you have to change terminals when passing through - yep, it's bad..
