...just so I could keep my itch scratched.
As EdFred said...Call me hopelessly addicted.
Very cool, Tim. Have fun with it.
Skybolt? I don’t know my experimental biplanes...
No offense to the nice 182 you had but this plane screams...beg for a ride!
The same group has this sweet little machine for sale. I wanted two holes though...need the ability of double penetration donchaknow!
I bought my single-place biplane and I've had a lot of fun with it, but it'll probably be my last plane with one seat! Everyone should have at least two holes!
Nice purchase Tim!
Glad to see it has a low wing , to make up for the high one .... congrats
Leather helmet and silk scarf next?
More pictures please. Looks like a ton of fun.
Is that Massey (MD1)?
You are so totally undisciplined, lol. I thought you were hanging it up.
Reminds me of the “He Man Woman Haters Club” from the Little Rascals.
I had an EAA biplane for a year. That one looks to be a lot nicer than the one I had. It was underpowered and had been groundlooped and probably made to be perfectly straight again. But it was fun.
no, Willow Springs, MO (1H5). Very active EAA chapter that does a LOT for kids. Last year they handed out over $20k in scholarships. Great folks.
Very nice. We tried to convince my Dad we needed one of those when we were kids...after he vetoed the Christen Eagle. Ended up with a Spezio.
Beautiful! Very nice.
I knew a fella that had one. He said it was pretty sporty with a Lycoming O-435 in it. I never did get a ride. He was killed in a car accident a couple of years ago. Not sure what happened to his plane. Registration shows his wife still has it.
Great ride! Well done Tim!
Once you go bi, you never go back...
Starduster II’s are among the prettiest biplanes. Call me envious.
My first acrobatic ride was in a Starduster. Great airplane.
It was also my first time in an open cockpit and I still distinctly recall the owner telling me "You should taste the spit from the last guy" in reference to the boom mic.
Should fit nicely in with Flib Field. But I thought you were giving it all up and joining the Peace Corps?
When solo, which hole do you fly from?
That's a shocker!
There ain't no peace corps any more...I guess 'cause there ain't no peace? <jk>
kept flib, sold all the excess land, will likely build a small hangar home just to have a place to "land" when I'm back in the area. Don't know what I'll be doing exactly since the peace corps has suspended operations. (last I heard, anyway)
The pilot is always in the rear hole...which, I guess, in this case is quite appropriate since the pilot is such an ass.
Prove it. I want to see a picture with you in the plane!
The Peace Corps suspension is because of the pandemic. For some reason they thought Peach Corps volunteers would be safer back here. Yeah, I know. The irony is rich. Vaccines should be out this winter, there are two in Phase III trials. Once vaccines get into wide distribution life should be back to at least a little bit of normal and the PC should resume operations, if you're still dead set on going. Me, had I my own field and a biplane to land it in I think I'd stay put. But that's just me.
yeah, I know, I was just being my typical smart ass...
That looks like a ball! Enjoy!
well, maybe let's keep it looking like an airplane... not a ball.
Fair enough. If it looks like a ball it probably wasn't fun.
Yeah, but does it have a 300XL? Finding DB sharing partners is getting damn tough
There was one for sale at my home drome... very tempting, I was starting to dream of open cockpit, low and slow flying... nice one.
