I bought my single-place biplane and I've had a lot of fun with it, but it'll probably be my last plane with one seat! Everyone should have at least two holes!

I had an EAA biplane for a year. That one looks to be a lot nicer than the one I had. It was underpowered and had been groundlooped and probably made to be perfectly straight again. But it was fun.
 
Very nice. We tried to convince my Dad we needed one of those when we were kids...after he vetoed the Christen Eagle.:rolleyes: Ended up with a Spezio.o_O
 
Beautiful! Very nice.

I knew a fella that had one. He said it was pretty sporty with a Lycoming O-435 in it. I never did get a ride. He was killed in a car accident a couple of years ago. Not sure what happened to his plane. Registration shows his wife still has it.
 
My first acrobatic ride was in a Starduster. Great airplane.

It was also my first time in an open cockpit and I still distinctly recall the owner telling me "You should taste the spit from the last guy" in reference to the boom mic.
 
Should fit nicely in with Flib Field. But I thought you were giving it all up and joining the Peace Corps?

There ain't no peace corps any more...I guess 'cause there ain't no peace? <jk>

kept flib, sold all the excess land, will likely build a small hangar home just to have a place to "land" when I'm back in the area. Don't know what I'll be doing exactly since the peace corps has suspended operations. (last I heard, anyway)

The pilot is always in the rear hole...which, I guess, in this case is quite appropriate since the pilot is such an ass.

The Peace Corps suspension is because of the pandemic. For some reason they thought Peach Corps volunteers would be safer back here. Yeah, I know. The irony is rich. Vaccines should be out this winter, there are two in Phase III trials. Once vaccines get into wide distribution life should be back to at least a little bit of normal and the PC should resume operations, if you're still dead set on going. Me, had I my own field and a biplane to land it in I think I'd stay put. But that's just me.

There was one for sale at my home drome... very tempting, I was starting to dream of open cockpit, low and slow flying... nice one.
 
Well...the FAA issued MU57 as the designator for my field.

so...

I just reserved 57MU for the Starduster's tail number.

"Kansas City Center... Starduster 57 Mike Uniform...

...request flight following to Mike Uniform 57"

that should elicit quite a few "huh? WTF did he just say?" responses.

Any idea what they want for the EAA, was it called a Smith Miniplane at one time? I always wanted a biplane, don't know why as I don't fly the 210 enough today.

Your Starduster II looks like great fun! I had a friend that had one back in the 80's and loved it. Never did get a ride though and always wish I would have taken the time to go see him.

I think it's priced at about $15k. Some guy is supposedly buying it...if he can find an open hangar...but, last I heard hasn't yet. Sooo...

The EAA Biplane and the Smith Mini are completely different designs. The Smith is very small and better performing, the EAA bipe is more docile (from what I've read, I haven't flown either).
