Nice you've gotta really love Maine to stay north in the winter.

Any north facing hangar door in the north country is the KOD.
This is the drifting around the SE corner of my hangar after last years Minnesota winter. Yes, it's above the doorknob on the side door.

Aw, Man... Those pics are what we call a "light dusting" of snow here in Jackson Hole..........:D.......:yikes:

After seeing the Minnesota photo I'm thinking I have it easy. These four shots are several years old and show the (March) ice factor in #1; #2 is directly behind me on the sunny south side; #3 was several hours after #1; and #4 is my neighboring unit. The owner is an airline pilot.

Ron Keating: I have a good friend in Fort Lauderdale, FL who comes here a couple two-week visits per year. However, my "winter" situation isn't an option, she being the former wife.
NOTE: These files were done before I bought the current DSLR whose initial files are LARGE.

This was in preparing to going to check the hangar.
iPhone photo. You can get an idea of the pitch of the hill I'm on by looking at the access road. The 4-whl. drive is a necessity for the 7 or 8 houses up here.

[EDIT:] 21" of snow; the F-150 STX-4x4 backed out through most of it(and no snow tires).

Now that is looking like (show flurries) here...:D:D..

Ps... I see the steep sloped roof was working to shed snow.... On the other hand, the flat roof in the top right side of the pic better be designed to carry the load real good....

Ben: the garage is at the left. The small area at "top right side" is a steep sloped overhang of the entrance. The house roof is also steep sloped.
Photo Feb. 03 a year ago. The deck party was postponed.

But enough of that; it became time to head out for nearby Montsweag Roadhouse for a couple watermelon margaritas.

That is an OLD restaurant facility originally known as Montsweag Farm for decades. After it closed for an extended period a couple came from NYC. They had long wanted to open a seafood restaurant in New England. They lost their jobs in The Big Apple. At least HE did when he had a day off from his employment in a tall complex which was toppled on 09/11/2001. They opened in this building, lasted a couple years and closed. A year or so later, Chris and Jenny opened it as Montsweag Roadhouse; it's about a mile from KIWI.
