There have been other crashes where the door itself blocked the exit. While the seat card says to throw the door out the window or place it across the seats, some times it just doesn't happen. In the case I was looking at, it fell to the floor directly below the window, blocking the bottom third of it.

As Mitch Hedberg would say "If you are flammable and you have legs, you are never blocking a fire exit"
