Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages
pilots to obtain a briefing before every flight.

What the hell is a 370-deg radial?!

What the hell is a 370-deg radial?
The secret service will explain it to you in the dark room with the spotlight on your face.

tfr.faa.gov says "037 radial", so 370 seems like a not too surprising typo variant of this.

It's the radial ten degrees right of the 360 radial. It's not a typo, they did it twice. Temporary insanity? Permanent stupidity? It was carried over incorrectly from the NOTAM and the coordinates were dropped:

WITHIN A 30 NMR OF 295832N/0951935W OR THE IAH037001.5 UP TO BUT
NOT INCLUDING 18000 FT MSL. EFFECTIVE 0910161930 UTC
(1430 LOCAL 10/16/09) UNTIL 0910162035 UTC (1535 LOCAL 10/16/09).

Then typo + cut 'n' paste, or typo + automatically generated text.

The lat/long they give seems to reasonably correspond with the 037 radial. Of course, since the distance from the VOR is 1.5nm, it's not like the direction is all _that_ important, unless I'm planning on scooting by 1.5nm outside the edge, which seems ill-advised.

The NOTAM got it right, it shows "IAH037001.5". That's 037 degrees at 001.5 DME. Apparently the leading zero was dropped in the carryover.

So that's the change Obama promised. He has given us 10 more degrees.

Or is it because of Global Warming.

Or it gets hot in Houston. They needed more degrees.

I could go on and on all day but I won't.

Or someone was watching too much West Wing. Remember the episode where someone announced Air Force One couldn't land on runway "three-niner"?

oh man, I missed that, even though I've watched the DVDs too.

Yeah, AOPA sent out a correction shortly afterwards, I just thought it was funny and wanted to point out a mistake.

It's Nigel Tufnel's VOR, "this one goes to 370".

OMG that's funny! That's hilarious.

The last thing we need here in Houston is more degrees.

So, 1.5nm on the 037deg radial of the IAH VOR. Basically just telling us that AF1 is going to be parked on the East Cargo ramp at KIAH. Wonder why he's going there and not to EFD, like he normally does? He's just jumping in a chopper and heading to CLL anyways...

They also mixed up between the F16 and F15 in that episode.

Well, actually, that's a true statement. It can't. Neither can any of us, for that matter. :D

FWIW, I just watched his motorcade go under my hotel window in SF a couple of hours ago!

I guess I should've added, "and I hope nobody else does either."
