Now, an IPad developed just for pilots!

A safety video in search of a problem?

I've said it a million times - if you want to make a point, don't exaggerate.

So, I've been wondering this for a while....

How in the world do you old school guys not get distracted by a big unwieldy paper sectional chart in the cockpit?

I'm not an old school guy, but I do use paper sectionals (no IPad or handheld GPS in the cockpit). I find it's normally really easy to fold it into two or so sections of the chart (total 1ft by 1ft) and clip it to the kneeboard. If I'm going XC, it's not difficult to flip or rearrange it every 30min or so.

Oh I'm sure, I carried a folded paper map for my solo XC and I keep one in the airplane at all times, but I don't use it normally.

If you compare the distraction level of a standard VFR sectional to an ipad with something like foreflight I think you'd find the paper is more distracting than the tablet device.

Just like headsets, paper v digital is entirely 100% personal preference.
