Not looking good - deal may fall through

Ah, I see!

There is a type of buyer that buys new, depreciates the plane and then moves on to the next one. Similar to cars, if you can put it through your business. Assuming a 3 to 5 year depreciation, you should see a fair number of '08s through 2012.

There is no place for emotions on your side of the table. If you are not willing to walk away, you are not negotiating, you are begging.

That said, it is important to decide whether the seller is actually dishonest or whether he was just engaging in a bit of sales "puffery.". If you believe him to be dishonest, no deal is a good deal. Walk.

Thanks. We actually were ready to walk if he didn't take care of the starter. We received a six page squawk list. With that said, we knew that the shop would come up with stuff as that is what they were getting paid for. We identified 3 things that were important to us- one cosmetic item that should have been disclosed prior to pre buy IMO, and it is pricey. Kind of knew the answer would be a straight out"no" but it ****ed me off it wasn't disclosed since the shop discussed it with the owner two weeks before. But we didn't want to be jerks so we didn't push it. There were two other mechanical things, one being the starter the other prop and gov o/h. The o/h issue was borderline. It is a recommended SB that would be addressed under 135, but we operate under 91. So we compromised. But we were ready to walk on the starter.

It's a buyers market. Just imagine the trouble you'd have if this were reversed. If you don't like the deal, walk. Another deal will present itself momentarily. Lots of used aircraft of all types out there. Lots to chose from. You can afford to be picky.

Thanks. We're closing this week.
It's not over until it's over. Resist falling in love with the deal at this point. If something goes off the tracks, do not forget that walking is still an option. Trying to"save" a deal at the last minute has burned more than one overenthusiastic buyer. Good luck.

You do have a point. Still ticked about the wing light lens.
